Cobra Kai never dies
hello everybody I know it's been a long while since my last entry I've been wanting to change a few things for my blog I'm a big die hard fan of the Karate kid film series and it's Netflix show Cobra Kai which gave me the inspiration I need for a new backdrop and colors from each dojo Cobra Kai Eagle fang and Miyagi do. if you haven't guessed on who my favorite character is it has to be Johnny Lawrence and as you can tell by the title this entry is gonna be all about Cobra Kai with the premiere of it's final season on July 18th 3 weeks from now it seems only fitting to celebrate the incredible legacy of the Miyagi-verse and go all in one last time.
there has always been a constant question in my mind about the rivalry of Daniel and Johnny and honestly I just don't get why their not telling each other the real truth it kinda seems that there's some hidden reason to it which I think there's only 1 word to describe it as
TRUE LOVE
if love is truly the answer for Daniel and Johnny to resolve their problem with each other then what exactly is going on between the 2 that's seems that love is there but why are they not showing us that they do love each other. this is the subject I will be addressing in today's post.
the DVD release date for the final season has not been determined yet since it will be releasing in 3 parts and the series finale will be airing in 2025 possibly in February if that's the case then the DVD release date could either be between March and April or later in the spring. with the premiere of the new Karate kid movie which Ralph will be starring in with Jackie Chan and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith executive producing the project. no one knows for sure if the film will be connected to it's Netflix series but with Daniel LaRusso being a character in this newest take of the karate kid legacy may mean it is connected and their not telling us at least not until Cobra Kai's big finale.

since Daniel was the main character in the movies Johnny is now the main character for the Netflix series Cobra kai it was a you tube Red original for it's first 2 seasons it then moved to Netflix for it's 3rd season which became it's new home for more future seasons. the series was inspired by the episode Bro Mitzvah from how I met your mother which both of the lead actors Ralph and William made cameos which William did over 7 episodes and only 1 for Ralph. the episode showed that William was wearing a cobra kai uniform underneath his clown costume which Robin was the one who called him as a surprise for Barney's Bachelor Party which Barney says that the real karate kid was Johnny and not Daniel due to the theory that LaRusso was the one who would directly pick a fight which Johnny would fight back.

why wouldn't Daniel just tell Johnny the truth of what Cobra Kai did to him
I think the real reason why Daniel never told Johnny of the abuse he suffered was because Johnny wouldn't listen to what he had to say he was to angry at the fact that Daniel wanted to take over the training sessions and finally bonding with Miguel. Johnny didn't care enough of Daniel's past to even know the real truth behind the trauma that Daniel is supposedly indirectly blaming him for.
list of obvious signs that Johnny possibly has a crush on Daniel
1. he cares for Daniel's safety
2. he didn't want Daniel to give up karate all together so he was one of the people who wanted revenge on terry for making LaRusso lose his hope in fighting back
3. he didn't want to seem like the weak link in front of Kreese
4. when Daniel and Johnny went to see a hockey game together one of the players might have referenced their future as a romantic couple calling Johnny Daniel's boyfriend
5. Johnny may have seen a part of Daniel in himself and didn't like what he saw
6. Miguel is basically the new Daniel which Johnny himself does not see it in him
7. he constantly backs away from the truth at the last minute because he feels that Daniel's past is not his business
8. constantly putting himself in danger could be his way in protecting Daniel from getting hurt or beaten to death
9. he may not want Silver to see he's gone soft for LaRusso
10. him being a bully in high school could be a sign that he actually likes Daniel and was acting out because he was scared that he might have a crush on him
is Johnny's crush on Daniel the reason why he never asked LaRusso why he blames him for his physical and mental abuse
for me I think the answer is yes Johnny's possible crush may be the reason why he never asked because he's scared to show Daniel his feelings possibly not wanting to cause a rift in his marriage to Amanda which makes him feel heartbroken seeing Daniel so happy with her which hurts him to think that he would never have Daniel romantically
Johnny earning his own family
throughout his life Johnny became a dad to Robert Swayze Keene aka Robby with a girl named Shannon Keene and since his mom died a week before Robby was born he wasn't there when Shannon gave birth to him. he was at the bar just across the street from the hospital. a few years later Johnny suddenly had change of heart when Shannon became neglectful constantly going out which Robby became a Juvenile delinquent because of her. Johnny wanted so bad to be there for his son and thought that Miguel was his replacement it was because of this that Johnny had to learn the hard lessons that comes with being a dad which he got with Miguel he clearly earned his own family from hard work instead of standing up for himself to get what he wants which he did in the past and now is expecting his own child with Miguel's mother Carmen.
Daniel learns a valuable lesson from Johnny
Daniel is now living the rich lifestyle which everyone assumes his family as being spoiled and bratty which is what Johnny thinks now of Daniel which he has the perfect life beautiful wife perfectionist children a job he loves and keeping Mr. Miyagi's legacy alive and thriving. when him and Johnny reignite their lifelong rivalry they teach each other not just their opposing style of Karate but also life lessons which Johnny is taught to let go of the things that kept him in darkness and Daniel is taught the harsh realities when life kicks you down cold and hard. these lessons is what made them become friends which they struggle to keep the balance this shows they still need to learn to love each other regardless of their hearts telling them that life doesn't matter if they have each other and that they would be nothing without the other in their lives.
when training their students together it tests their patience with each other
Daniel and Johnny have opposing on views of 2 different styles of Karate which Miyagi do is about defense and balance Cobra Kai now eagle fang is about offense and fighting back these styles can also be combined into one to make an incredible supergroup. individually these styles created a rift between Daniel and Johnny and teach them patience with the other if a student wants to create their own style with either Offence or defense.
they are the future versions of John and Terry
John Kreese in the past was basically Daniel which he was bullied and lost his girlfriend which the realities of the Vietnam war made him a hard ass and cold like his captain had treated him his best friend was Terry Silver which they had met in the same war which they both enrolled. Terry in the karate kid part 3 was Johnny which he was the bully who uses peoples feelings to emotionally manipulate them to make them lose an all valley tournament. now Daniel and johnny have become them years later.
Robby and Miguel: how Daniel and Johnny see themselves in them
Robby and Miguel are basically the new Karate kid and bully which Ralph Macchio had described Miguel as the new Daniel which explains to me that Miguel's journey turned out just like Daniel's which Johnny saw this and didn't like the fact that Miguel would let himself be manipulated to the dark side which Robby the misunderstood bully was made an inside spy from both dojos Johnny always had seen himself in him not just because he is his son but also the fact that he never wanted his life to repeat itself and make Robby pay for it with his life.
Daniel and Johnny are their own Miyagi and Kreese
Daniel and Johnny become Sensei's of Miyagi do and Cobra Kai thanks to their assumptions of each other basically says they are the next Miyagi and Kreese from student to master this is what made the Cobra Kai series what it is since it was the original pitch for the show and make Johnny the main character.
why does the girl always start the lifelong rivalry
I think the reason why its always the girl that starts the feud between the new kid and the popular bully is that there's something innocent about the girl and they both find that she's worth everything and perfect which they see is what they need in life a firm but gentle hand to love them no matter what thinking that she could be the one they would marry which doesn't turn out to be the case in the Netflix series which they both find woman that makes them better.
did Kreese know of Ali
it's hard to tell if John Kreese knew of Ali Mills or had even met her you would've thought he would have because she was Johnny's girlfriend and Johnny was his star student. in a deleted scene with him and Robby he mentions that Johnny lost to Daniel's crane kick because he was distracted which he said it was love that distracted him and was made the runner up. when I watched that clip from the movie it was clear that Johnny was no longer with Ali which he may have still loved her but was no longer in with her this makes me think that Kreese didn't know Ali at the time and saw that Johnny didn't want to cheat or hurt Daniel despite his actions when he was bullying him. Johnny ended up paying the price this makes me think that Kreese thought that Lawrence is in love with Daniel seeing that nothing was worth the risk of losing him which would make kreese think he was losing Johnny that he considered as his own son.

1. he gets scared for Johnny's life
2. he cares for Johnny's safety
3. Daniel didn't oppose when a hockey player called Johnny his boyfriend
4. he makes assumptions that drive Johnny crazy
5. he has no reasons or evidence to blame Johnny for Terry's actions at the all valley tournament
6. he automatically assumes that Johnny is the same bully from high school even though he had changed when he started training Miguel in Karate
7. when Ali came back for the Christmas party at Encino hills she mentions that the problem is that they both think there's only 1 side to the story
8. Johnny's methods rub off on Daniel and he becomes more aggressive
9. he's scared to tell Johnny that he was in cobra kai when Terry emotionally abused him
10. he's scared to tell Johnny he loves him because he doesn't want to get distracted which will cause him to lose focus while training
how Cobra Kai is a show that addresses learning about love in different ways
a show like Cobra Kai it gets confusing on why the characters love or hate each other Macchio mentioned that Daniel and Johnny's relationship has the Rachel and Ross Dynamic if that's true then are they going to kiss or not we do see a couple times in the series there's the will they or wont they moments where they might actually kiss. to me the show expresses everyone is learning about love differently in their own way first up is Daniel and Johnny I feel that they get so close to telling each other the truth that they just stop and start their a feud all over again they always assume the worst in each other which is not always the case when it comes to their children. next is Miguel and Robby for them Miguel assumed Robby was interested in Samantha even though she was already his girlfriend when she shows up at Yasmine's birthday party with him he thinks they are already a couple which is not true because her mother had her phone not allowing her to talk to him which Miguel was in the wrong for not believing her that she was telling the truth and that she was grounded. lastly we have John and Terry which Terry thinks of Kreese as his weakness since the 2 are best friends and war buddies sure John had left him behind which he said that he will never do that to him but he did and when he came back he wanted him to run Cobra Kai with him when he learned that Daniel and Johnny had done the same. Kreese just wanted his best friend back but when Terry turned into a monster again he felt that Silver was shutting him out which he described it as Terry leaving him behind locking away their friendship forever which Kreese had begged him not to leave him as he is his best friend and that he loves him to much to let him go.

information on William and Ralph
Ralph George Macchio jr. is one of the iconic stars of the 80's born on November 4th 1961 he became famous from The Outsiders playing Johnny Cade alongside Diane Lane Matt Dillon Emilio Estevez with 80's hunks Patrick Swayze and Rob Lowe. a year after filming The Outsiders he landed the lead role of Daniel LaRusso for the Karate Kid trilogy which he only starred in 3 throughout his career and thanks to the karate kid cemented his legacy as a icon for many fans. another film he was also famous for my cousin Vinny and had participated on Dancing with the stars he even made a cameo in how I met your mother which gave the idea for a sequel TV show of the Karate kid franchise with Johnny now as the main character which started in 2018 for 2 seasons on you tube Red before making the move to Netflix for future seasons the show was simply titled Cobra Kai.
